Course Details:

- Full Name: Diploma in Medical Lab Technology (DMLT)

- Duration: 2 Years / 4 Semesters (6 Months Each Semester)

- Eligibility: 10+2 (Science with PCB preferred. Arts/Commerce eligible under DFF Flexible Model)

- Age Limit: 17+ Years, No Upper Limit

Semester 1 - Foundation (6 Months)

- Human Anatomy & Physiology - Part 1

- Fundamentals of Medical Lab Technology, Lab Safety & Biomedical Waste Management

- Basics of Biochemistry & Lab Chemistry (Solutions, Reagents, Calculations)

- Communication Skills & Computer Applications (MS Excel for Lab Reporting)

- Practical 1: Lab Orientation, Equipment Handling, Safety Drills

Semester 2 - Core Pathology (6 Months)

- Clinical Biochemistry Part 1: Blood Sugar, Urea, Creatinine, Cholesterol, LFT, KFT

- Haematology: Blood Grouping, Haemoglobin, CBC, ESR, PCV, BT, CT, DLC, Blood Banking Basics

- Microbiology Part 1: Microscopy, Gram Staining, AFB Staining, Culture Media, Sterilization

- Practical 2: 20+ Hands-on Tests - Hb, Blood Group, CBC, Blood Sugar, Urea

Semester 3 - Advanced Diagnostics (6 Months)

- Microbiology Part 2 & Immunology: Widal, VDRL, HIV, ELISA, Malaria Parasite, Stool Parasites

- Clinical Pathology & Histopathology: Urine Routine, Stool Examination, Semen Analysis, Body Fluids, Tissue Processing, Pap Smear

- Advanced Biochemistry & Automation: Fully Auto Analyzer Operation, Hormone Tests, Electrolytes, Quality Control (QC) & Calibration

- Practical 3: Urine, Stool, Widal, MP Slide, Rapid Kit Tests, Auto Analyzer Handling

Semester 4 - Management & Internship (6 Months)

- Laboratory Management & Ethics: How to Start Your Own Diagnostic Lab in 2-3 Lakhs, Lab Licensing, NABL Basics, Marketing, Patient Counseling, Record Keeping

- Recent Advances: CLIA, PCR, Latest Automation Technologies

- Employability Skills: Resume Building, Interview Preparation, Govt. Job Preparation (NHM, AIIMS, PMCH, Railways)

- Practical 4: Compulsory 3-Month Internship in a Hospital or Private Diagnostic Lab (Daily Log Book, 10 Case Studies, Lab Management Project, Final Viva)
